The so-called "two party system"

The so-called "two party system" has no foundation in the Constitution. I wouldn't count freedom of assembly to petition the government as that is different from organizing within the government in order to run it. I wish party caucuses in Congress and state government run primary elections for parties and every other governmental arrangement in support of these troublesome institutions would be abolished. They are no more a legitimate part of government itself than a private think-tank or news media company would be. The political parties should be made to do all their organizing and agitating strictly outside of government and without any taxpayer support.
